How quickly is Burleson ISD growing?
Our student population has grown from just under 8,000 children in 2006 to more than 11,800 today, and with all the new home construction in the district, our student population is expected to grow to more than 14,000 over the next ten years. That’s a projected 21% increase.

How was the Burleson ISD bond package and Tax Ratification Election (TRE) developed?
Approximately 60 members of our community came together in a facilities advisory committee and spent four months reviewing and analyzing the needs of our teachers and students. Comprised of parents, grandparents, educators, and business and civic leaders – this volunteer committee made sure each committee member had the opportunity to provide input.

What is going to be addressed by the $85 million bond package and TRE?
The facilities advisory committee came to a consensus on an $85 million bond package and TRE. It will provide our students and teachers with new and renovated schools to manage growth and maintain academic standards. More details are provided in this brochure.

What was the final vote by the Board of Trustees?
The Burleson ISD Board of Trustees accepted the bond package by a unanimous vote. Voters will have their say on Saturday, May 6. They also can participate during early voting from April 24 through May 2.

What is going to be the tax impact of the bond package on Burleson ISD taxpayers?
The projected monthly cost is $14.74 on the average priced home in Burleson ISD ($161,050) for homeowners who have applied for and received the homestead exemption.

What will be the impact on senior citizens in the district?
There will be no tax increase above the frozen level on the homestead of taxpayers aged 65 and older who have applied for and received the age 65 freeze.
